...and in that order. The ghost crabs were out in force today, but they could not outnumber the grains of sand or the armfuls of trash I hauled off the beach. Why would you leave trash less than 5 footsteps from the trash? And why dig a hole big enough for a 300 lb. turtle to be trapped? This is me trying to fill the hole. As Jaime Escalante would say "A negative times a negative equals a positive."The good news? Three groups of people stopped to ask me about the turtle counts and to express concern for the oil spill. There may be many people who treat the beach as their trash can, but there are even more who love it just as much as I do.
